Join us at Camp Timberlane in Haliburton, Ontario (just 3 hours drive from Toronto Pearson Airport) for Camp Do More 2020.
This isn’t your average conference. This isn’t typical retreat. This is summer camp for grown ups. We’re bringing the Do More Photographers together for community, education and boudoir. Plus camp fires. You can purchase a Camp Pass for just the fun stuff and/or add on educational classes to round out the experience. With industry-leading teachers you’ll walk away with your mind full. And with friends, new and old, you’ll also walk away with a full heart.
I have had the privilege of being a part of Camp since it’s inception, three years ago. It is with much excitement that I announce, in 2020, I will be coming at you as as an Camp Do More educator!
I will be teaching two workshops, The first – Shooting with Sexual intent – How to create stimulating and provocative imagery for your clients that allows them to explore their raw sexuality in a safe environment. It will cover how I pose and light my clients in my unique “dark and moody” style, to create dramatic and emotive images with sense of sensuality, sexuality and voyeurism.
The second workshop I will be hosting is with my dear friend and colleague – Artist Jessica Rae. We will be covering Shooting with Intent – Creating Sensual vs. Sexual content. Although Jessica and I have very similar styles with regards to our love of “Dark and Moody” imagery, our approach to how we work with our clients and the “intent” behind our work is vastly different. This class will give you the opportunity to see how we work in order to create and express our unique styles through the use of lighting, posing, client expression and environment.
Don’t forget – a Camp Pass is required if you plan to take any of these workshops, it must be purchased separately on the Camp Do More website. Workshop seats are non-refundable, however they are transferable if this becomes necessary. Transfers
MUST be approved by AROHA MCKAIG and may not be sold or transferred for a profit.
We’ve all heard of the “body positive” movement…right!? But did you know, there is also community dedicated to being “sex positive”?? Yes….you heard right!! In a world where social media reigns supreme and our addiction to Instagram and Facebook is ever growing, we are seeing a wider acceptance of individuals who do not necessarily conform to society’s ideals regarding their body type, sexuality or their sexual desires and practices. So it really is no surprise that this is becoming a hot topic of conversation.
This workshop is designed for those of you who are looking to push past traditional Boudoir boundaries and embrace a new era. No longer do we need to be feel ashamed or ridiculed those for wanting to explore our sexual nature, tendencies or preferences. It’s time we EMBRACE it!
In this class, I will be teaching my step by step approach on how you can tap into this lucrative market, while giving your clients the opportunity to explore their raw sexuality in an intimate and safe way. You will learn how I connect and market myself to this type of clientele, how I shoot, pose and light my subjects to create mood and atmosphere with sexual undertones, in any given environment.
When you view Aroha and Jessica’s work side by side, it can often be a challenge to distinguish one from the other. While they have similar styles and aesthetics, their approach and execution are vastly different. Jessica has a free-flowing, organic process and posing – aiming to capture vulnerability and sensuality from her subjects.
Aroha strives for more sexually charged imagery and is very structured and articulate with posing and directing her subjects. She takes her subjects to the “next level” of intensity, which is prevalent in her work.
In this workshop you will learn how to one pose and interject vastly different intentions and mood, from Sensual to Sexual, allowing you to bring more variety to your work and to your clients overall experience.
